This guide describes how to customize verification emails, OTP codes, and welcome messages using the Template Editor in the Admin Console.

---

## 1\. Accessing the Template Editor

1. Log in to the **Admin Console**.
2. Navigate to **Communication Templates** (or **Template Editor**).
3. You will see two tabs:
  - **Email Templates**: Customizes HTML templates.
  - **SMS Templates**: Customizes plain-text phone messages.

---

## 2\. Dynamic Variables & Placeholders

Fabrixly-IDS supports **Handlebars** template parsing. Use double curly braces `{{variableName}}` to insert dynamic session values:

| Variable          | Scope       | Description                                       |
| ----------------- | ----------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| {{otp}}           | Email & SMS | The generated one-time verification code.         |
| {{link}} | Email | The login validation or password reset hyperlink. |
| {{firstName}}     | Email & SMS | User's registered first name.                     |
| {{lastName}}      | Email & SMS | User's registered last name.                      |
| {{appName}}       | Email & SMS | The application name set in Branding.             |
| {{expiryMinutes}} | Email & SMS | Code expiration duration (e.g. 5).                |

---

## 3\. Editing a Template

1. Click **Edit** next to the target template type (e.g., `Forgot Password Email`).
2. **Email Subject Line**: Enter a subject (e.g. `Reset Your {{appName}} Password`).
3. **Template Content Editor**:
  - Use standard HTML to style emails (tables, inline CSS, image tags, grids).

Example Template Code:

```html
<h2>Hello {{firstName}}!</h2>
<p>We received a request to access your account.</p>
<div style="background: #f0f2f5; padding: 15px; font-size: 24px; text-align: center;">
  <strong>{{otp}}</strong>
</div>
<p>This code is valid for {{expiryMinutes}} minutes.</p>
```

---

## 4\. Live Rendering and Preview

Before saving changes, ensure layouts render correctly:

1. Locate the **Live Preview** pane next to the code editor.
2. Click **Render Preview**. The console displays the compiled output matching the exact formatting users will see on their mobile devices and desktop clients.

In the **Mock Variables** JSON box, enter test data:

```json
{
  "firstName": "Jane",
  "otp": "987654",
  "appName": "Fabrixly",
  "expiryMinutes": "5"
}
```

---

## 5\. Saving and Defaulting

- Click **Save Template** to deploy the edits.
- **Restoring Defaults**: If you break formatting, click **Reset to System Default** at the bottom of the page to restore the pre-installed system template instantly.
