This guide walks you through setting up outbound notification delivery channels (Email and SMS) to support OTP delivery, verification flows, and password reset notifications.

## Part A: Configuring SMTP (Email) Settings

1. Log in to the **Admin Console** and select **System Settings** on the left menu.
2. Navigate to the **Email Provider** tab.
3. Fill in your SMTP server credentials:
  - **Email Provider**: Select `smtp` from the drop-down.
  - **SMTP Host**: The address of your mail server (e.g. `smtp.mailgun.org`, `smtp.gmail.com`).
  - **SMTP Port**: Typically `587` (for TLS/STARTTLS) or `465` (for SSL).
  - **SMTP Username**: Your email provider account user ID.
  - **SMTP Password**: Your email provider access key or app-specific password.
  - **Sender Email (From)**: The email address users will see in the "From" header (e.g., `noreply@yourcompany.com`).
4. Toggle **Enable SSL/TLS** based on your port selection.
5. Click **Save Email Settings**.

## Part B: Configuring SMS Gateway Settings

1. Log in to the **Admin Console** and navigate to **System Settings** \-> **SMS Provider**.
2. Configure your SMS Gateway credentials:
  - **SMS Provider**: Select your gateway provider (e.g. `twilio` or `sns`).
  - **Account SID / API Key**: Paste your SMS provider account identifier string.
  - **Auth Token / API Secret**: Paste your SMS provider authorization secret.
  - **Sender ID / Messaging Service SID**: Enter your SMS sender ID or mobile number (e.g. `+15017122661`).
3. Click **Save SMS Settings**.

---

## Part C: Testing Connectivity (Live Validation)

Always verify configurations before making them live for end-users:

1. Under the SMTP or SMS configuration forms, locate the **Test Connection** card.
2. Enter a destination target:
  - **For Email**: Enter a valid email address (e.g., `testuser@example.com`).
  - **For SMS**: Enter a mobile number in international format (e.g., `+1234567890`).
3. Click **Send Test Message**.
4. Verify delivery success:
  - **Success**: The console displays a green notification check: `Test email sent successfully`.
  - **Failure**: The console outputs the raw SMTP/Gateway error payload (e.g., `535 Authentication Failed`) to help you debug credentials.
5. Check your inbox/device to confirm receipt of the test notification message.
